2023 year in review
Wendell Falls had a remarkable 2023. We welcomed new homes, amenities and businesses, and even won a few awards!
We won awards
- Wendell Falls won “Best Community Recreations Facility” for the Encore Clubhouse and “Best Broadcast Commercial” in the radio spot category at the 2023 MAME Awards.
- Misty Morn’ by Homes by Dickerson and Hollywood Regency by Homes by Dickerson won gold, and Bladen by McNeill Burbank, Paper by Fresh Paint by Garman Homes and Arrowspring by Encore by David Weekley won silver at the 2023 Parade of Homes.
- Myatt Landscaping, our landscaping partner, was honored with NALP’s Silver Award for landscaping at Wendell Falls!
We welcomed new phases:
- We expanded with Phase 10, located on the north side of Wendell Falls parkway, featuring single-family homesites and a brand-new amenity center with convenient access to The Collective.
- Phase Two of Encore by David Weekley Homes, a collection of low-maintenance, one-and two-story homes for residents who are 55+, opened for selling.
New homes
- We introduced a new builder, Brookfield Residential, with single-family homes and two-story townhomes priced from the low $300,000s.
- Garman Homes’ previously sold-out Playlist Collection became available again in Phase 10.
- McNeill Burbank brought three new home plans, The Harvey, The Andsley and The Bladen, to the community.
New model homes
- Fully decorated models of the Declan by Brookfield Residential and the Bladen by McNeill Burbank opened for touring.
New amenities
- Our splash pad and the new Perch Pool & Playground officially opened.
- New spinners were added to Solstice Park and have been loved by both kids AND adults!
- We expanded our trails to include more advanced hiking and biking trails behind the Fire Station at Taylor Rd!
- We welcomed Lunar Landing, our newest park located on the North side featuring slides, a Lunar Leap, kid and adult swings and play mounds.
New businesses
- Sonder Coffee, Don Beto’s Tacos and Tequila, Wingstop, Jersey Mike’s, Menagerie Style House, Elements Massage, Jeremiah’s Italian Ice, Parkside Restaurant, Woof Gang Bakery, Starbucks, Pivot Physical Therapy, McDonald’s and Bojangles officially opened.
- We announced that Fitness Collab and Fifth Third Bank will be joining the community soon.
- Falls Local, Envy Nail Spa, WakeMed Wendell Healthplex and High Street Insurance continued to work towards their opening dates. Follow us on Instagram @wendellfallsnc and @dellthepig to keep up with the latest news on recent openings!
New friends
- Almost 200 new families moved to the community this year.
- We also welcomed The Pigs at Wendell Falls, party of delightful, colorful pig sculptures — including one giant flying pig named Dell, to Model Row! The Pigs at Wendell Falls represent all the creative, artistic, entrepreneurial and all-around inspiring residents we have here at Wendell Falls.
And new art:
- We added a mural by Autumn Cobeland, known as the Raleigh Greenway Artist, to the tunnel underpass below the parkway.
- Our mailboxes got a refresh.
- We welcomed a Starbucks that is different by design.
