Thanksgiving at Wendell Falls

Thanksgiving is almost upon us, and Wendell Falls and its neighbors are hosting a plethora of activities to celebrate the season!

News in the Neighborhood

  • Pretty Your Porch: Our community is excited to see your most festive fall porch decorations. From perfectly posed pumpkins to spectacularly seasonal displays, snap a pic of your porch and send it to icenhour@fsresidential.com by November 26 to potentially win a prize! (Residents Only)
  • Sunday Funday Food Trucks: For our Wendell Falls foodies, we have scrumptious offerings coming up over the next few weeks.
    • November 29: Trash Talk || 5-7 p.m.
    • December 6: Barone Meatball Co. || 4-7 p.m.
  • Take Home the Turkey: Our own Farmhouse Cafe is offering Thanksgiving Meal Kits for pickup on Wednesday, November 25. Order by November 20! Enough food for 8-10 people, these fully cooked kits take a bit of stress out of the Thanksgiving preparation. Call 919-374-7227 by November 20 to place an order. Here’s what’s on the menu:

What’s Going on in Wendell?

  • Sip & Shop (November 21): The Shops at Southern Charm is offering a Thanksgiving Sip + Shop. Savor a cup of coffee or warm apple cider while browsing chic couture and jewelry.
  • At-Home Escape Room Challenge (November 21): In this scenario, you are the turkey attempting to use your sleuthing skills to escape becoming Thanksgiving dinner! Sign up to become an escape room champion.
  • Cooking with the Pros (November 22): Fine tune your culinary skills with a hands-on Zoom cooking class with Patrick Cowden, our own Farmhouse Cafe’s executive chef. Email icenhour@fsresidential.com for information.
  • Virtual Thanksgiving Scavenger Hunt (November 26): “Zoom” in, meet a few new friends and compete in a Thanksgiving morning virtual scavenger hunt full of fun challenges to complete and trivia to tackle. Here’s how to register!
  • Virtual Thanksgivings: Wendell is also offering a few virtual Thanksgiving events. Give them a peek here!

Trotting Around the Triangle

  • Turkey Trots: This year’s Thanksgiving Turkey Chase is offering both virtual and live races -- a 5k, 10k and 20k! Virtual races are occurring from November 21-28 with the live race capping off on November 28.
  • Food Truck Flix: What else is there to be thankful for in the Triangle this season? Get your food truck fix with a drive-in movie experience (followed by a peaceful fall hike to work off all those delicious Thanksgiving calories).
  • Macy’s (Virtual) Thanksgiving Day Parade: Rather than marching down the streets of New York City, this year’s Macy’s Day Parade performances and parades will be viewed from the safety and comfort of home. Tune in to the celebration on November 26 at 9 a.m.
  • Festive Shopping: Check out Raleigh’s local gifting inspiration if you’re anxious to jumpstart your holiday shopping.
