7 tips for adjusting to a new community after moving

Meeting your neighbors in a new community and getting involved is key to feeling connected in a new neighborhood. Here are a few ideas for how to meet your neighbors and tips for adjusting to a new community after moving. 

  1. Attend events

Attending events is a natural and effective way to meet your new neighbors! Wendell Falls plans a variety of events every month such as, food trucks, festivals, art classes, game nights, holiday events and more that can be found in the monthly newsletter! The lifestyle manager has several exciting events planned for this year including four seasonal signature events: a spring brunch, a summer party, a fall fest and an elegant holiday party.

  1. Join clubs and classes

Wendell Falls offers a variety of fun clubs and monthly activities residents can be a part of such as, Run Club, Book Club, Bunco, Mahjong and Guys Night Out. There are also classes residents can choose from such as yoga, cooking and financial classes.

Check out the local schools, pet-friendly facilities and family-friendly programs! Wendell Falls has its very own charter school, Cardinal Charter Academy, and a daycare center, KinderCare, in the community, along with Lake Myra Elementary. For the furry-friends, Neuse River Vet & Doggie Daycare is located (and growing) in the community.

Explore downtown Wendell and check out the historic buildings, grab a cup of coffee at 41 North Coffee or sip a glass of wine at Wine and Beer 101.

Pick up fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables at the Wendell Farmer’s Market on Saturday morning or spend the weekend teeing it up at Wendell Country Club, playing tennis at Wendell Park or enjoying a relaxing day of canoeing, kayaking or fishing at Robertson Millpond Preserve.
