Resident Spotlight: Meet Andrea and Ron
While there are many things to love about Wendell Falls, the residents are what makes the community so special. When Andrea and Ron were looking for a home in the Triangle, they wanted a location of convenience and builder that would meet their specific wants and needs. What brought you to Wendell Falls?
We were looking for a community with access to multiple highways and a short distance to multiple services, where promises of each day are filled with fun and excitement. Each day we wake up with a smile and at night thankfully retire with excited anticipation of what’s ahead tomorrow. The community has met our expectations on so many levels. Wendell Falls is in a great location. Moving here has conveniently placed us close to so many of our favorite spots. We love downtown Raleigh and the nearby shopping and parks. When we leave our home, we are less than three minutes from the highway! We love it! This community is friendly, active, diversified and family orientated and has so much potential for growth! What do you love about Wendell Falls?
When we searched in the Triangle area and beyond, it was a challenge to find a builder that would be able to design a home that met our unique specifications. After searching for more than a year we selected Capitol City Homes. This was the right choice! Their professional sales team, design center and project manager listened to our wishes and worked exceptionally close with us to transform their Boone Model by enlarging certain rooms. It is our dream home! They nailed it!
Tell us your story!
It was on July 7, 1969, when we first met. Ron, a young Bank Teller, was introduced to Andrea, an admin her first day on the job. It was love at first sight. Today, we are blessed to have two amazing children, a daughter-in-law and two grandsons -- all New Yorkers. We are so excited about their annual summer visits.
We moved from New York to North Carolina in 2014. Prior to relocating Ron served as chief operating officer of a hospital system in the state of New York, and Andrea enjoyed 35 years where she retired from a scientific laboratory as the course registrar and manager in their Meetings and Courses Department. After moving to North Carolina, Ron retired two years ago as president of Win-Win Partners, a healthcare consultant firm.
This year we are hoping and praying that the virus will be contained enough that we can celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends and in our new home.
What would you tell to someone considering moving to Wendell Falls?
We luv luv and luv it here! We are so happy and cannot wait for warmer weather, and while respecting COVID-19 protocol, we’re excited about getting out to meet our neighbors. Today, we are closer than ever and enjoying it to the utmost.
