The commitment to energy efficiency that Wendell Falls made when it was starting up has been shown once again. In our most recent report from Southern Energy, Wendell Falls is seeing green….in more ways than one.
Your home in Wendell Falls is 22% more efficient than the average home in North Carolina. While this statistic is impressive, you may be asking yourself, “What does that even mean?”
To break it down into more digestible numbers, this number means your home saves you nearly $700 a year on your energy bill. This is equivalent to nearly 200 gallons of gas or your yearly supply of afternoon coffees from Sonder. Annually, each home in Wendell Falls saves over two thousand gallons of water compared to the average US home per year.
As a community of over 2400 homes, these numbers add up. As a community, our energy efficient homes have saved its residents over $7.5 million in the last ten years. With this, 110.4 million pounds of carbon emissions have been avoided and 24.2 million gallons of water have been saved in the community’s lifetime.
With a decade past and years to come, Wendell Falls will continue to demonstrate both thoughtful design and a commitment to green living.
