Across the state of North Carolina there are many different shows and events to get you in the holiday spirit. From the mountains to the coast, mansions to tiny towns, we have it all! Some options are right around the corner (maybe even in your backyard) or make a great weekend getaway. Check out a few of our favorites:
Wendell Wonderland:
It’s happening on Friday, December 7th, starting at 5 o’clock in the evening throughout downtown Wendell. A night full of festivities, markets, shows, and of course the jolly man himself! Experience the town of Wendell like you’ve never seen it before with the great company of family, friends, and neighbors. There will be surprises, activities, and goodies for all ages. http://www.townofwendell.com/discover/events
Wendell Falls Sip & Shop:
On Saturday, December 8th, from 2 - 5pm: Eat, shop and be merry, at the annual Wendell Falls Sip & Shop event. Tour our models and get a head start on your holiday shopping, with gifts from some of our favorite local vendors. We'll have special drinks at every stop, from apple cider and hot cocoa to wine and beer. Plus festive treats like gingerbread cookies, cake pops and more savory bites (pigs in a blanket, anyone?) www.wendellfalls.com/sipandshop/
Christmas at Biltmore Estate:
Spend the day exploring the Biltmore Estate or make it a romantic getaway. Located in Asheville, NC, the Biltmore was commissioned by George Vanderbilt, of the infamous Vanderbilt family, after he fell in love with the Blue Ridge Mountains while on holiday. Thousands of Christmas decorations and magnificent tree displays flood the halls of the mansion every year. This luminous spectacle attracts many visitors from across the nation! https://www.biltmore.com/
Lake Myra Light Show:
Everyone loves a choreographed light show and experiencing the magic of Christmas with friends and family. It started out as a small community light show among neighbors and friends, but as the popularity grew it had to relocate from Lake Myra Road to downtown Wendell. It’s happening every night until December 31st – and don’t forget that Santa stops by on Fridays and Saturdays! https://www.lakemyrachristmaslights.com/
Speedway Christmas:
Charlotte Motor Speedway hosts a drive-through light show around the track and infield, including activities like a Ferris wheel, live Bethlehem village, photos with Santa, food, games, and so much more. It’s open Thursday – Sunday during the week and all Christmas week (excluding Christmas Day). New attractions are added every year to make it more spectacular than the last! https://www.charlottemotorspeedway.com/events/speedway-christmas/
