Taking Sustainability to New Levels in the Tar Heel State
We’re excited and thrilled to be featured in the May/June issue of Green Home Builder Magazine alongside Briar Chapel, our sister community in Chapel Hill. From inception, Wendell Falls was built on a foundation of sustainability and green principles – a legacy that endures today.
What does going green look like in practice? Energy-efficient amenities. Rigorous building standards. Homes that are 23 percent more efficient than the average North Carolina home. To date, we’ve built eight net-zero and 29 solar homes. Our residents enjoy miles of trails, preserved open space and luscious green parks. In fact, these measures save our residents approximately $688 annually -- which adds up to $876,000 community-wide savings since our inception in 2015. As the Triangle’ largest EcoSelect community, it’s no wonder Wendell Falls is turning the heads of publications like Green Home Builder Magazine.
Here, it pays to be green! For all the great details, read the full article.
