Where the coastal plain meets the Piedmont, a better life is being discovered among its towering oaks, lakes, streams, and wetlands. Enjoy the beauty of the falls and winding creeks, all connected by an extensive pedestrian trail system and walkways with future expansion and connection to the Mountain to Sea Trail, a long-distance trail for hiking and backpacking that runs across North Carolina, from the Great Smoky Mountains to the Outer Banks.
With approximately twenty five percent of the community dedicated to preserved open space, Wendell Falls is more than a home, it's a recreational paradise. A variety of active and passive gathering spaces including Rocky Falls Park, Three Points Park, Shindig Park, beautiful overlooks, boardwalks, and natural play structures that bring out the kid in all of us. Additional neighborhood parks are planned for future phases.
The Green Side of The Triangle.
Reflecting the rich agricultural tradition and rural character of the land, a pervasive presence of nature is the hallmark of the community, featuring native trees, shrubs, ornamental grasses, and perennial colors. By utilizing indigenous landscape palettes and Green Habitat Restoration, the Wendell Falls community preserves tree stands, restores or creates functioning habitat, incorporates ways to reduce water consumption, and encourages responsible interaction between residents and the natural habitat.
