Wendell Falls Grand Opening Blends Innovation with Tradition

Wendell Falls, a new-home community in Eastern Wake County, invites friends and families for a traditional “barn raising” grand opening event from 12 to 6 p.m. on May 16, 2015 to celebrate the innovation of this new home community, while honoring its southern heritage. The grand opening includes a vibrant schedule of award-winning bands, family activities, giveaways and V.I.P. tours complemented by craft beer and southern fare.

“We are thrilled to celebrate the long-awaited opening of Wendell Falls,” said Shannon McSwiney, marketing director, Newland Communities. “As a community that blends the innovation of the Triangle region with small town tradition, Wendell Falls offers a premiere quality of life that honors local heritage, and we’re eager to unveil the lifestyle this new home community offers.”

Grand opening guests have the opportunity to tour The Farmhouse and 10 green-certified model homes featuring the latest housing trends from seven award-winning builders. The grand opening also features new music from nationally-renowned bluegrass headliner Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out and performances by Unspoken Tradition. Families will have a ball on the festival lawn with a bungee trampoline, magician, games, crafts and Muddy the Mudcat while enjoying gourmet southern fare by Southern Harvest Catering.

In addition, Wendell Mayor Tom Hinnant will announce the winner of the $50k on the House contest that has been running throughout the two months leading up to grand opening, where one homebuyer will be awarded $50,000 to spend toward their new home in Wendell Falls.
